Duncan, Kaitlyn and Alistair’s son moved into the barracks this round taking Forrests old space. Both Abel and Daniel reached teenage and I decided that the “knights in Training” would stop boarding school and would go to prep school when they hit teenage this way they can start a “teen career” is if they are getting some “in the field training”.

Still things are getting very costly at the barracks, school fee’s are hurting, i changed things around and decided that they shouldn’t receive the tax’s from men living on Silverhand land at the barracks so Vince money now go’s straight to king.

However with only two people ( Thomas and Deonte) with jobs its going to quickly wittle away the “barracks” money, however its only 2 years before the oldest boys go to university to finish there training and while there their parents get to foot the bill for the privilege and the barracks can afford to soak up the cost for now.

I’ve decided to let holly heal a little, giving her 1% chance of getting pregnant, undoubtedly the king will soon be putting pressure on Thomas to produce a royal heir soon enough.

Thomas already has Quillen, however he’s a child born out of wedlock to a peasant and certainly not what the king would consider a suitable heir to the throne, so we better hope holly gets very lucky or perhaps the king will have reason to annull Thomas marriage like he threatened when Alistair was first killed.

Deonte is still only 16 but he has risen well in the ranks of the military and will soon be entitled to an “officer” home, Deonte originated on the Beaumont estate which means thats where he’ll get his house, however im debating building a second barracks there instead with him in charge, i have quite a few young boys floating about i could recruit into the army in a while leaving my main Silverhand barracks for the sole purpose of training my knights.

No matter what I decide I can still look at the options of wives for him. I think I may wait a few years yet but there is no harm in looking at the options open to him. there are a few playable options Daisy and Muirean are currently involved in story line relationships however neither is ever likely to result in anything permanent so they are good options.

There is also Persia Bendett, she’s only 12 at the moment but being Vince’s ( head of the knights ) daughter she’s very accessible to Deonte, and if she where to move into the new barracks as part of her ” royal service” her and Deonte would have a good opportunity to meet each other and possibly fall in love and Deonte being a military man would meet her requirement for a “servant” husband allowing her and their children retain the Bendetts servant class.

However after getting this pair together during the course of the session i find they have no chemistry which is a shame, however that doesn’t necessarily mean my plan is is dead.

The Bendett’s are traditionalists and i can see Vince being in favor of arranged marriages, and wanting to keep his family’s status as servants of the crown secure. He knows Deonte well, having close contacts with the barracks and will know the Deonte is a good man, and as he rises though the ranks and gets his own barracks to command he’ll become a very attractive marriage option, certainly better then simply marrying Persia into a regular merchant or peasant household where she’ll lose her status as a royal servant, so i don’t think its unbelievable for Vince to approach Deonte with the suggestion.

Deonte however isn’t from a family who value arranged marriages or traditional values as a whole. Personally i have a real soft spot for the Gawen family and Deonte in particular and really want to see him do well, even though he hasn’t been in the story much i still have a very clear personality for him in my mind.

He’s not had much luck with girls have relationships with both Muirean and Daisy in the past neither of which panned out, but he’s a real hard worker very eager to please and i think if Vince was to suggested that a position commanding a barracks may come available if Deonte was married to the right girl i think he might be swayed.

However lets see if godly intervention can help the relationship along… they are both popularity sims so i can see no real reasons why they shouldn’t get along.

Taking a quick look at their turn ons and off .. i can see there are some things that are fixable, Persia likes facial hair and fitness .. well Deonte is already fit so i give him some rather fetching sideburns. Deonte likes makeup so with a quick trip to the local mirror i fix Persia up im not sure daddy would approve but hey and it seems to work suddenly a negative lighting bolt becomes 1 lighting bolt with is much better and things look good to go.

Persia and Deonte are a match and plans now need making I don’t really real bad about telling you about this.. i have enough main characters in Grimstead atm so these two aren’t very likely to make a big appearance so im not really ruining anything… i just need to wait till next year move Deonte into a new barracks and move in Persia as a maid and soon enough we should be ready for marriage and little baby Deontes.

Long term for the barracks involves Daniel Henry’s youngest son becoming head on the knights and taking over from Vince and staying there, while eventually Thomas ( with or without holly ) will go and become king up at the castle, but this is all away in the future Daniel has 2 more years and the barracks and then 4 years at uni, while Thomas could get called to be king at any time depending on how mean the death calc with poor King Henry who is not only an elder but has a few illness tokens next to him.

Staying all this, as with anything in this game when the death calcs involved things can change very rapidly…. Thomas or Deonte could be the next to go and that could scupper all my best intentions.
