Hamdun – Village Renovation – Stage 3
Ok the next stage is to add the merchant class accommodation, merchant children should in theory get a bit more starting cash from there parents, so there starting homes cost about the same as the peasant step up homes.
The first house i built for merchants was a small starter home with a built in home business, like the initial shops i built the shell here it is and these where placed facing the main village center as if there were part of the shopping area.

As you can see i tried to keep them in the same colour scheme as the rest of the village but they are built out of stone as well as wattle and daub to give a higher class feel than the peasant area’s.
They consist of a shop downstairs and a very small living area upstairs suitable for a single merchant or couple with possibly 1 child. It will get a bit of a squeeze after that they are 8k unfurnished.
The I re-named each building giving them a purpose, I added 6 of these starter homes and they consist of :-
- Boothman – seller of Grain.
- Fueller – Sells charcoal and Wood.
- Grinder – Sharpens / sells knifes
- Bookbinder – Seller of books (in our case seller of bookcases)
- Broomdasher – Selling Brooms (yes seriously im having a shop of brooms)
- Lacemaker – Selling lace curtains and table cloths.
After that I needed a starter home for merchants who where taking in game jobs, costing about the same as the home business versions.

These merchants get a little more space for kids and familys because their ground floor isnt taken up by shop space. These homes are 7k unfurnished, good for singles or young couples and should provide enough room for 1-2 children.
The next house I need is a step up home for merchants. This is built on a 2×1 and costs about 16k.

I’ve not done a home business version of this home as im hoping by this point most merchants will have invested in a separate business. However because of the style it could easily be turned into a home business if needed, or could be turned into 2 smaller terraced property’s for sims wishing to share.
Ok so there we have the merchant class area finished, there is only really Kaiden’s old place in the way of merchant property’s made for well established family’s but like the peasant area i dont see the point in building them until they are needed.
Lastly ive built and added a church, its a residential lot and at some point ill actually have a priest living there but for now its just for looks and the odd photograph.

Here’s a picky of the village so you can see how its looks now that its finished.
As you can see ive also moved my whore house into the village. ( ya ya i know it can’t fly but i couldn’t be bothered making a new one )

It’s cute. And I love all the houses you made.
