Ailth left home at the start of this round, poor lynette didn’t have much to offer her in the way of dowry so she only left home with about $1000 in her pocket, so Lynette also let her take one of their two dogs and plenty of fish from the pond.
Lynette didn’t used to pay taxs however this changed when she moved the boys father into the house and became independent its a shame really he ended up being no good.
With Ailth gone it leaves just Lynette and the twins in the house, leaving her sort of short of money, Lynette has a very low income as she hasn’t had the time to raise though the ranks of equestrian yet, thus far she’s managed to pay the taxs but most days its she only just scraps by.
Being merchant class i allow her to have pet careers and her dogs have always provided the money to cover the tax’s, however having given one of the dogs away she needs to buy and train a new one to replace it.
There are 3 main ways of getting a new pet – petshop, adopt a pet or from another sim. I know there is also adopt a stay but its too slow and alot of effort and i want the animal now.
When looking for a new pet i always look at the sim option first, so i have a scout around to see which of my sim dogs have puppys or adult dogs they could do with getting rid off.
Lynettes current dog is female, so i’d really like to try and get a male so she can have a set of puppys so when Chase and Bailey move away from home i can give them one each.
I find dogs and cats are a really good way of giving your merchant / noble children a good start when they move out on there own for the first time especially if the animal is already a good way up their career
The options of people with male puppys or spare male adult dogs are :-
Vince Bendett – Male Adult – Large Breed – Pure Bred (Norsk Elk Shepherd) Hazard grew up from a puppy this round so is still fairly young and would provide Lynette a good dog for a long time.
Daisy Farmer – Puppy’s – Shaggy and Kip -Large XBreed – They are still puppys so i have no idea how they are gonna turn out but they bred from a Collie and a German Shepherd /Husky cross which are fairly compatible breds so i imagine they will be quite decent looking dogs.
Taye Gawn – Puppy – Cannon -Large breed – This is a Pure bred (Lab) its father is a Black lab and its mother Chocolate, the puppy its self is brown so im guessing we’ve go another chocolate but its possible it may have some black markings when its older.
Unfortunately they are all large breeds, Lynette current dog moonbeam is a small rather ugly looking cross breed, created from a yorkie and a white chow, tbh i think breeding any of these available dog’s with it is going to result in ugly puppy’s.
So i have a look at the pet adoption options, If i have a large state of over crowding in a house i often have my sims give pets up for adoption which means many of the puppys here have actually come from playable homes, granted they may have been caught in a time warp for a while and i have no clue which is which or how they will look when they are older but hey.
Sadly i seem to have an abundance of female dogs around, all the puppys in the adoption options are female and the only male dog available is alittle out of Lynettes price range and i have a sneaking suspision its an elder.
Am i the only person who hates it when you buy a dog or cat via adoption and get it home to find its an elder despite paying $1,000-$2,000 for it?
So making the best of it i choose a small female puppy, maybe i’ll get a single male dog later and have it breed with both of the females just before Chase and Bailey move away from home then again maybe ill just buy the boys both a dog of there own in a few years after all there is currently room in the house.
