hmmm decisions.

…………..

I’ve always been a big fan of “Vampire / super natural ” type stuff, im a bit of a geek in reality, and as many of you have noticed my Grimstead story sort of reflects this.

Recently however ive been coming up with all sorts of idea’s for story lines following the “Alistair” story and and although im dying to go into more detail there are also in-game implications.

Firstly i need a rule set for vampires and werewolves, back story wise is really easy, im a great fan of the “white wolf” world of darkness and im thinking of basically running with that idea, without getting to bogged down with too many of the facts and figures after all this is my world and i don’t want to confuse and put off the every day reader by getting Waaaaay too technical.

So if any of you out there are white wolf fans don’t have a go when you notice “that” clan of vampires has an ability they aren’t supposed to have or “this tribe of werewolves” has just don’t something you deem out of character don’t tell me off :P im not going to read up the rules every time i make a character or use a power :P

Anyway back to sims… as we know sims has a provision for both werewolves and vampires .. however no offence …. YUUUUUK.!!!!!!.. whats with vampire women getting pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!! and why are werewolves skiny and hairy??????

so im going to “make up” my own rules… not sure how im going to do this yet… hmmm… but for sure.. vampires are gonna bite to make more vampires. Not have baby’s !!!!! (seriously i can’t begin to describe how much this urk’s me)

Vampire and werewolves don’t rule the earth ( well actually they do.. sort a) but i mean there are not millions of them because both types of super naturals have restrictions as to breeding.

Vampires have strict rules about who can and can’t create new vampires, after all too many in one area and people get suspicious, your vampires must have enough people to feed off after all. (vampires in world of darkness rarely kill there lunch it draws to much suspicion if 100’s of people a week go missing after all)

werewolves also have restrictions.. i won;t go to much into detail i don’t want to ruin story lines.. but they do procreate in much the same way as humans so “baby’s” are born..so its enough to say that no real modifications needed there, werewolves can often live as humans without anyone ever noticing so as a whole werewolves are easy.

The main problem comes down to the book of death, both vampires and werewolves live longer than humans (indenfinatly for vamps) unless of course they get hold of each other, 99.999999999% of deaths in the supernatural world are the results of them killing each other.

but not every werewolf or vampire is equal, age , experience all make huge impacts on the general toughness of a supernatural creature. A new werewolf for example is not ‘likely’ to kill a thousand year old vampire.. so do i design a “new” book of death especially for vamps and woofs??????!!!!!!!! or do i just allow my story line to determine when a character dies???

Last issue is story related, this other world is going to be attached to Grimstead … but do i

a) write it as i do now as part of the main Grimstead blog or

b) start a new blog perhaps following “Alistairs live as a vampire” (legacy style perhaps) and have cross-posts when the two worlds inevitable collide?? they’d be on the same “timeline” so the “vampire” blog would probably have a lot less posts and being set in the same world things that happen in one may or may not effect the other???

I debated separating them because i think some people prefer the more traditional medieval story’s…but it it was just the odd post would people care?? Am i making life waaay to complex for myself??

Hmmmmmm decisions decisions … what do you guys think??

  1. Anoua said,

Lol, I think your kind of making your life way complicated, but for the deaths if you don’t have it based on the story you would need a calculator, and if it’s just based on story you may or may not loose some of the twist that come up since no one, you included actually sees them coming when the deaths are random. I wouldn’t mind a few odd posts, not sure about everyone else, but a new blog as long as easily accesible probably wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
