Ok so today we see the birth of a new family name, Taye married Forrest a couple of years ago but this year is the first time they’ve had their own house.

Forrest hasnt done badly for them, buying a reasonably decent sized converted barn on the Beaumont estate. Financially this is a strange place to set up home considering Forrest is a freeman and can technically live on any estate taking his wife with him.

However story line wise i can’t imagine Taye would want to be far away from her mother, and financially it makes little difference as Forrest as an officer in the army is granted a fix rate of taxs that isn’t dependent on where he lives.

the house it’s self has three bedrooms and is quite a nice size however it has a large open barn area and a loft that can be used as the family’s size increases, for once i actually trying to look ahead of the needs of the family so im pretty pleased with myself for that.

Forrest and the Dog bring in most of the money into this house, as Taye left her fish shop in the keeping of Lysander. I have however made her an employee and made sure she’s been given a decent wage. Forrest is merchant class so finding a nanny isn’t a problem here.

However i am thinking i may have to re-think the 3% military tax rate, it seems perhaps abit too generous so i think ill change it to normal class rate – 2% instead of a standard 3%. this would mean Forrest’s tax’s change to $3300 / 2 per day = $1650. i take a quick check around grimstead to see who else this would effect, it does make a noticeable difference but i think all the familys can handle it.

The round ticks along nicely no deaths come up on the death calc which is always a relief, and the house supports it’s self nicely even with the increased Tax’s.

Taye is a family sim belive it or not, and Forrest is a knowledge sim and with this in mind it’s not long before Taye get’s pregnant unfortunately not all baby’s are ment to be and she miscarried shortly after getting pregnant.
