Ok Orion and Narrisa would be a perfect choice for my “new birth control” having 4 kids already, the last two of which where born pretty much back to back. However *sigh* no boy’s … and sadly in medieval times generally speaking people just kept on going till they had a boy.. argh!!!. So unfortunately Narrisa is stuck in child rearing mode for now which i bet she is super over the moon about haha
The second thing i notice when starting the round is that although their house is really quite nice it’s getting a bit of a squeeze, don’t get my wrong it’s not a huge squeeze and for most family’s I’d simply live with it, however Orion and Narrisa are pretty healthy financially and i actually feel they could handle an upgrade pretty well.
Now looking around the Shaw estate even though it has had a bit of a re-vamp with the addition of apartment life i notice there really aren’t any houses suitable for an upgrade, so what do i do?? build one of course, well not strictly true, the Shaw estate has quite a solid well made theme, many of the houses are big stone buildings and unlike the other estate’s it really has very little in the way of small humble type homes, so what i did was take the converted farmhouse i built for Forrest and Taye and use that basic building on the Shaw estate.
The main difference between the two buildings is that Forrest’s is pretty rundown, while i have take Orion’s and done it up, so that it looks much newer and and much better condition, before moving the family in.
The house it’s self including basic furnisher will cost the Carpenters $66,764, which is quite a lot of money, however with Orion’s military discount the tax’s on the building will still only be $1320 per day which is well within Orion and Narrisa’s budget and still leave’s them with $10,000 cash in hand when the round starts.
Money is steady into the house and the family are surviving pretty well even with the jump it tax’s from thier new home, i could afford to send the 2 school age children to private school, however if i do this for them i will also have to send the other two girls plus any other children the family may have before they get thier boy and this might put a strain on the family, especially as their two cat’s are due to age to elder and i have no intention of getting more cat’s till these ones die.
So instead im leaving the girls in public school, after all in medieval times a boy’s education was far more important than a girls, and this will allow orion to save his money, ensuring a reasonable dowery for the girls and possibly allowing them to send a boy child to university in the future.
