Constant tweaking of the new tax system has ment that Bran and Abagael are paying slightly more this round, the tweaking has been necessary to insure a balanced system that will work for all levels of my kingdom and i dare say by the time im finished it will look different from the way it does now.
However i am confident that im getting closer to values im happy with as a baseline, from there it’s just a question of tweaking it up or down based on the lord and of course working out the rules concerning apartments.
Right now my gut feeling is that “indentured” men peasants or merchants will only be allowed to live in apartments as they can not own land, while free men will be able to choose between apartments or houses.
Apartments are naturally the cheaper option however while living in an apartment they can not own business’s, this however doesn’t include the special farm lots i will be setting up they are counted as “houses” and will work differently. Im trying to think of some other restrictions to put on apartments as they do work out much cheaper so i feel they deserve some penalty’s im just struggling to think of some right now so if anyone has any idea’s feel free to post
Anyway even with the new tax’s Bran and Abagael are doing fine and i splashed out on some “birth control” for Abagael this round, they have 3 boys they are doing fine and i don’t really see the need for the family to have any more children unless of course they choose to.
Bran and Abby where both university educated and as such I’d like to see their three boy’s with at least a private education continuing on this family as one that is well educated. Money wise now that Abby is working the family as doing much better and i think i could just about afford to send their eldest son but not the other two.
However instead of putting them into financial difficulty especially now when im still playing with the tax system im going to hold off until Abby max’s out her career (as far as being a woman will let her) and re-look at it then, Adam is still only 8 so i have a couple of years before a decision needs to be made.
