Brightden Crossing (pop: 303)
Ok so it’s time to start breaking down these villages and im going to start with Brightden Crossing which is the Village, Thomas has just liberated and moved Valdermar too.
Valdermar’s estate is now composed of this village and 10 isolated members of the population.
These Isolated Member’s are most likely to be 2 small farms or perhaps 1 large one with workers, i’ve decided in this case it’s going to be 2 small farms. Randomizing i decide on 4 people in one farm, 5 people in the other and then one last single man who is going to be a woodcutter.
I’m not going to decide on names of everyone at this point just rough ideas of who is who and where they live. So for the isolates i’ll have.
- 1 woodcutter
- (M) age 31
- Farm
- Owner (M) age 63
- Wife (F) age 56
- (F) age 36
- (M) age 38
- Teen (F) age : 16
- Teen (F) age : 13
- Farm
- Owner (m) age 42
- Wife (f) age 34
- Child (M) age : 10
- Farmhand (M) age : 18
Starting with the playables who will have moved with Valdermar we have.
- Valdermar
- Eadric
- Farron Carpenter (Indentured)
- Orion/Narrisa Carpenter (Indentured)
- Hannah
- Amber
- Alexandria
- Tegan
- Anna
- Lucy Aiden Jones (Indentured)
- Gwen
- Jacob
- Gary/Helena Gothier (Indentured)
- Gaelen
- Jasper
- Leon / Gayle
- Amanda
- Edith
- Vui Hiatt / Finnegan (Indentured)
- Gideon
- Layla
- Ria/Wakeen
This counts as 28 of the population of 303 … just another 275 to go easy hu?
(6 adults accounted for so far)
I’ve used this http://www.welshpiper.com/online-population-generator/ to work out my professions/class’s. Entering 303 i simply clicked the button till it gave me something i could work with baring in mind i have “2 nobles” Valdermar and Eadric and a few law Enforments
So This is what i came up with
- Noble House
- Valdermar (lord)
- Eadric
- Servant 2
- Officers
- Reeve
- Messor
- Woodward
- Constable (Finnigan)
- Law Enforcement (Farron) + 1 npc
- 2 clergy (npc’s)
- Freeholders (Skilled trades men ) - 22 (see note below)
- 2 Military (Aiden, Orion)
- Armour
- Butcher
- Chandler
- Charcoaler
- 2 x Cobblers
- Furrier
- Maison
- Metalsmith
- Baker
- Potter
- 2 Tailors
- Tanner
- Tavern
- Timberwight
- Tinker
- Vintners
- Weaver
- WoodCrafter
- Citizen’s (Peasants+ Unskilled Wifes and children Etc – (268 )
- Assumed to Work on or around the land (woodcutters, farmhands, hunters etc)
- Midwife (Vui)
Note – I had murder working this out because at first i simply assumed that the “Freeholders” where merchants inclusive of women and children which made no sence to have 22 merchants total and 22 business’s but i later figured that “women and children wheren’t classed as skilled population so they came under the citizen’s bracket. So i will still need at a later date when i would out who lives in which house to work out how many “merchants and peasants” i actually have.
Households
The generator has given me the following buildings in the village.
- 1 Mansion (Valdermar’s)
- 1 church for the clergy
- 28 Business’s (note some of the freeholders have 2 business’s one they live in and one they work in)
- 1 Municiple (guard station)
- 38 homes
Im not using this information “yet” but it is useful as it will give me a base to work off later when i 1) build the village in the game and 2) try and work out all the family’s.
