Clan Malkavian – pt1

Neonate (also called fledging)
These are newly created vampires and refer to vampires less than 50 years old, vampires of this age rarely/never hold any power within kindred society and are still considered under the wing of their sire. Crimes committed by a Neonate often reflect on their sire who often shares in their punishment. Risa is an abandoned Neonate her sire unknown, Carolyn is also a fledgling sired by Hector (Carolyn is mentioned here – http://leiela.wordpress.com/2008/08/11/the-babe-and-a-pile-of-barrels/) Neonates rarely have more than 3 points worth of disciplines and those points are almost always in their clan powers.
Ancilla
Ancilla are responsible for their own actions and make up the majority of kindred society. Despite the misconception that the average vampire lives for hundreds and hundreds of years in actual fact made up of vampires ranging in age from 50 years to 150 years, vampires living longer than this are rarer as rivalry’s and kindred politic’s often mean they kill each other. Ancilla may tinker with disciplines outside their own clan, but their primary powers are usually the strongest, Ancilla usually have anything upto 10 levels worth of disciplines. Arabella is an example of Ancilla vampire.
Elder
Elder Vampires are generally quite rare, finding more than one elder in an area is rare still making Grimstead an unusual place as Elders often kill each other in battles of power or with the intent of diablorie. Elders are vampires over 150years old, they often have disciplines outside there clan having negotiated or stolen them over the years. Elders have often maxed out (as far as their generation will allow) their clan disciplines and usually have a specialized in some out of clan, Elders vary greatly in power anything from 10 points to 30 points in disciplines. Hector and Vincent are both Elders.
Ancient.
No surprise but Siren is our Ancient, Ancients are generally over 1000 years old and in order to live that long are usually fairly low generation, either naturally though siring or though diablerie. Their real power is usually a closely hidden secret, sharing the true extent of their disciplines with no-one not even their closest ally’s. Siren is well aware that chances are someone (most likely Vincent or Hector) will one day seek to diableries her and take over her control of Grimstead as such she lives a unlife looking over her shoulder, she will however be relying on the fact that they can only guess at her true power and dare not defy her. It is safe to assume that it often takes at least 10 Elder Vampires to gather together in order to take down a Ancient. Most Elders hate the Ancients as they feel like pawns in vast games they do not understand, the true intent of Ancients is rarely limited to controlling plots of land and wealth those things are merely tools in greater games but few have the power to kill them. It is said there are less than 100 true elders in the world and most of them are at war with each other.
Vampire Powers – Dominate
Ok I thought i’d do the next section on some more Vampire powers having covered the main clan disciplines for our three main vampire characters I thought it was time to go into some of the other well known and well used Disciplines, starting with Dominate.
Dominate has been seen used by both Siren and Vincent though Vincent is by far the most prominent user of this discipline and by the fact that Siren often get’s him to do his mojo on humans it can be assumed that his power level is greater either that or she’s just really lazy. Clan Brujah – pt 1
Since Arabella is featuring quite abit at the moment, I figured a little piece on her clan the Brujah pertinent.

Vampire Powers – Auspex
Auspex yet another of Clan Toreador’s clan power’s it is the supernatural ability of highten sences and increased awareness.

Vampire Powers – Presence
Presence is the supernatural power of Attraction and Entrancement.
Presence is the power you often see in the movies, humans captivated by a vampires aura and presence of being.
Starting from the lowest to highest. (note the vampire must learn at least one power per rank before he/she can learn a higher level ability and some powerful vampires have created their own slightly altered versions of these powers but these are the common ones.
All powers work on humans and super naturals alike, though supernatural have a better chance of resisting these ability’s strong willed humans can sometimes negate them.
Levels 1-5 are freely learn-able by all generation vampires so are very much the norm/common powers within vampire society. A vampire must be at max 7th gen to learn powers beyond 5th. It worth noting that even though the “average” generation of vampires in medieval times was 9th – 10th, Vampires lower than 8th are rare and considered powerful. Read the rest of this entry »

Clan Toreador – Pt 1
Caine himself sired three children the first was his natural son Enoch, he was followed by Zillah who was rumoured to be Caines wife and then finally Irad, who themselves sired 3rd generation vampires who where and still are known as the Antediluvians.
